With their casual elegance and practicality, Vacheron Constantin’s new Overseas timepieces are a boon for the modern traveller who yearns for fresh discoveries. To highlight this perspective of the world shaped by travel, Vacheron Constantin has selected none other than Steve McCurry, the legendary photographer, who places the notion of humanity at the very heart of his work.
During the event, the Swiss luxury watchmaker showcased a unique perspective on the travel spirit of The New Overseas Collection, in presence of the Brand CEO, Mr Juan-Carlos Torres – an Overseas tour that offered a distinct perspective on the world through McCurry’s incredible lens. Like the 12 hours of the dial, the photojournalist immortalised 12 unexpected locations including Chand Baori, the 10th century visually spectacular stepwell in Rajasthan, known for its intricate architectural ornamentation and optical illusions. Some of the other locations include Leshan (China), Grand Central Terminal (New York, USA), Tsuru-no-yu Onsen (Japan), Aqueduct of Padre and Tembleque (Mexico).
“It has been in our DNA to marry traditional fine watchmaking values such as artisanal finishing with the pulse of the contemporary world,” says Juan-Carlos Torres, CEO, Vacheron Constantin. “This year, Vacheron Constantin has reinvented one of its most iconic collection – The Overseas. This collection offers a variety of innovative new features and yet strikes a balance between function, elegance and traditions. For us, the Overseas is the perfect collection that represents these values of the brand. I am excited to be here for the launch in India and share this tour along with Steve McCurry’s fantastic images that evoke the spirit of this collection.”
