How has the last year been?
In the last 5 years we have doubled the ladies watches business. We have been introducing true innovations. That’s how we tackle difficult times! We continue with the strategy we have adopted.
You have introduced the slimmest automatic this year…
The Octo is indeed an icon in the men’s collection. It brings in the geometrical aspect. It is very powerful and masculine. It has the best finishing of movements. We wanted to bring in an ultra-thin movement in the watch. We wanted to bring the thin watches out of the formal mould. The aesthetic is a breakthrough. It stands out in a way no other watch does. The know-how for the automatic movement is also difficult to master, but we have done it and at a good price point.
We are the only brand that I know of that actually does a ladies’ execution, and not just take a men’s watch and make it smaller! The Serpenti is a part of the DNA and we have a new way of wearing it. We will go further in helping a woman personalize her watch.
The Indian market…
When we sell to Indians we also sell outside India. We see it across the globe.
Global plans considering market situation…
We are into a world that is becoming more and more about me and myself. The millennials are more about “me”. What you just saw on the Serpenti speaks a lot to this public. Digital is also becoming more important. So, we have to work on the communication to catch interest.
