The 27th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH 2017) took another step in transforming its format. The Girard-Perregaux and Ulysse Nardin as well as five artisan-creators and independent workshops are ready to join the ‘Carré des Horlogers’.
SIHH 2017 | January 16 – 20, 2017
SIHH is scheduled to take place from January 16 to 20, 2017, at Palexpo. Last year it changed its layout, enabling the creation of the ‘Carré des Horlogers.’ It’s an area dedicated to artisan-creators and independent workshops. Now, two further Maisons are participating in the Salon and five representatives of “new-wave watchmaking” are joining the Carré, bringing the total number of exhibitors to 30. This is a record for the SIHH!
Girard-Perregaux, before being purchased by the Kering group in 2011, was one of the cornerstones of SIHH. Ulysse Nardin, also owned by Kering since 2014, will be joining the fray together with Girard-Perregaux. The five new members who will be welcomed at the Carré des Horlogers are Grönefeld, MCT–Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps, Ressence, RJ-Romain Jerome and Speake-Marin.
The SIHH will also undergo another important development. Hitherto restricted to industry professionals, SIHH will throw its doors open to general public on Friday. This change will enable the exhibitors to reach out to an enthusiastic audience beyond the industry. This move will reinforce SIHH’s reputation as the most important event in the Haute Horlogerie calendar.
