Christie’s is all set to enthrall jewellery aficionados with its line of spring jewellery in Geneva. The Magnificent Jewels auction to be held on May 18, 2016, will feature the Royal Jewellery collection of HSH Gabriela Princess zu Leiningen.
A passionate jewellery collector, the Princess’ jewellery will be spread across 46 lots and is expected to raise in excess of US$15 million. The prestigious brands that are part of her repertoire include Cartier, Schlumberger, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels. The exclusive jewellery not only underscores her expertise as a collector but also offers a glimpse into the colourful and active life of the Princess.
Royal Jewellery – The Oppenheimer Blue
The participants at the auction are in for another surprise as Oppenheimer Blue will also be presented on the occasion. It is the largest and finest Fancy Vivid Blue diamond ever to have come under the hammer. The diamond weighs 14.62 carats and will lead Christie’s auction of Magnificent Jewels. It is estimated at US $ 38-45 million.
The auction will be held at 7 pm on 18th of My at Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues, Geneva held at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues. The exhibition will be on between 13th and 18th May from 10 am to 6 pm.
In 2016 Christie’s celebrates its 250th anniversary. The Geneva event and the beautiful selections auctioned add to the anniversary celebrations of one of the world’s revered auction houses.
