“Art and science can work hand in hand,” said the great artist and inventor Leonardo Da Vinci. This quote turned out to be the inspiration that propelled Horacio Pagani into the top gear of automobile designing. The latest car by Pagani Huayra BC – is a testimony of the brand’s mastery of engineering and innovation.
The initials in the new machine’s name belong to Benny Caiola. Caiola, a real estate developer, was known for his collection of Ferrari cars. He deeply admired Pagani’s creations and became the proud owner of the first Pagani car. He sent a letter of appreciation to Horacio Pagani with a $1000 cheque enclosed within, for a treat to the Pagani mechanics. Such was the greatness and inspiration of Benny that Pagani came up with a car that immortalises the man.
What started off as the Huayra Coupe has culminated into the creation of Huayra BC. The Huayra BC has been inspired by its ‘track focused predecessors – the Pagani Zonda R and the Zonda Cinque.
While working on the latest model, the team at Pagani Automobili focused on creating the lightest, globally homologated Hypercar. Developing chassis and suspension systems that are derived from motorsport was another aim. The makers have also successfully developed completely new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). It enhances the performance and comfort of the car without compromising on the weight and balance.
Highlights of Pagani Huayra BC
The car’s engine is developed by Mercedes AMG, exclusively for Pagani. The V12 Bi-Turbo engine unleashes more than 750 horsepower. It is approved CARB and EU6.
Special effects: The result of careful acoustic design in geometries and materials such as titanium, the sound of the car with the sports exhaust system enhances the driving experience.
A 7-speed AMT represents a new benchmark in transmission technology. The gearbox comes with a new electro-hydraulic actuation system and new carbon fibre synchronizers. A brand new electronic active differential has also been introduced.
Pagani follows the maxim of ‘less is more’ for the interiors of Huayra BC. Visually appealing, the interiors are set within the traditional aesthetic framework of Pagani.
The braking system has been developed by Brembo, Pagani’s long standing partner. The Pagani Huayra BC is equipped with Pirelli tyres. Horacio and his team have worked extensively on the aerodynamic properties of the car. The Huayra BC has been completely redesigned and except for the roof does not share a single body panel with the Huayra Coupé.
The sleek body of the Huayra BC is a sight to behold It is full of promises of unforgettable rides!
