The Seddiqi family in Dubai has been friends of the brand MB&F since its inception. Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons was one of the six core retailers that supported Büsser’s vision of a horological laboratory focused on creating kinetic sculptures. The Seddiqi family has extended its support to the brand by opening an MB&F M.A.D. Gallery in Dubai. It is the brand’s third gallery after Geneva and Taipei.
The Gallery showcases the 13 limited edition Legacy Machine No. 1 (LM1) M.A.D. Dubai timepieces in Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) titanium. Its striking green face, courtesy Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD), makes it an easily recognisable piece of art. Another impressive aspect of the watch is the Arabic-Hindi numerals of the ‘home time’ sub dial.
Ti-6Al-4V is a specific titanium alloy, which is a blend of pure titanium with 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium and trace amounts of iron and oxygen. It is stronger than commercially pure titanium and has an excellent combination of lightness, strength and resistance to corrosion. LM1 sports in-house movement, immaculate Geneva waves, highly polished gold chatons, and bridges with impeccably executed bevels following deliberate internal angles. The watch has a 45-hour power reserve and black hand-stitched alligator strap with titanium tang buckle.
LM1 offers a reinterpretation of the 19th century watch making excellence in a contemporary context.
