Czech lighting pioneer Sans Souci brings a new meaning to the term mood lighting with their latest collection of bespoke lights. The Bowls and Aurora collections, designed by Katarina Kotulakova, embody a contemporary chic aesthetic with a dramatic flair. These fixtures ensure that the look, mood and personality of any space will be greatly enhanced and take on a striking and bold appearance.
Sans Souci’s bowls exude a simple sophistication highlighted by the starkness of contrasts in materials and colours. The hand-blown bowls, in varying sizes, which make up the light fixtures have been rotated 90 degrees on their axis and are suspended with the convex sides facing each other. The result is an elegant yet disordered wave-like effect.
Bowls are available in several contrasting colours of glass and metal coatings, with the classic white combined with gold and deep black combined with silver taking the lead. Other combinations include a subtle mint green with brass, opaque black with brass, a delicate opal combined with copper and a daring bright green combined with violet.
Inspired by the breathtaking Aurora Borealis and lesser known but equally awe-inspiring Aurora Austalis, which light up the sky in the far northern and southern hemispheres respectively, Sans Souci’s Aurora collection creates a vision in lights.
Made up of two-part pendants, a hand-blown crystal-clear drop with a soda effect on the inside and cap with a silver coated finish, the Aurora lights are designed to replicate the celestial phenomenon for which they are named. Advanced programming techniques result in a magnificent show of coloured fans, ray or drapes, with the entire installation controlled by an iPod.
The Bowls and Aurora lighting fixtures from Sans Souci are a must for the host or hostess who enjoys making a statement. Sure to turn heads and be a topic of conversation, these bespoke offerings will elevate their surroundings and bring a touch of refined drama to any occasion.
