HM6 Alien Nation is yet another take on the very popular HM6 line. A continuation of stellar space exploration, this one gets some extra-terrestrial beings onto the wrist.
Back in November 2014, MB&F gave the world the HM6 series. Watch aficionados loved it and there was always a buzz around new versions. HM6 Alien Nation is the latest one. As they say, it only keeps getting better.
One of the main features you immediately notice is how you can see through the entire workings of the watch. Yes, it’s all sapphire for the watch body, supported by the metallic lugs. These are but the reinforcing elements, and they are in Grade-5 titanium.
Coming to the aliens, they are very much there. Look carefully within and you will see six of them. They are manning the ‘vehicle’ (after all, MB&F watches are not just watches…they are machines). These aliens have been hand carved in white gold by engraver Olivier Kuhn. This is a feat that really involved some intricate work. Consider this: the arms and necks of the aliens are finer than grains of sand! Moreover, each alien required up to 34 hours to complete. That is more than a month of full-time work for the crew of six!
The manned spaceship is also a wrist instrument. So, how does it tell the time? The hours and minutes domes do the time-telling. The automatic mechanical movement features a 60-second flying tourbillon with retractable shield that opens and closes over it. While it will tell you time, it looks equally good as well. You’ll find yourself staring into time…a luxury no doubt!
There are four unique pieces of HM6 Alien Nation, differentiated by their accent colours: green, blue, purple and turquoise. Welcome to earth! It’s mission accomplished!
